PLANT PROPAGATION
Propagation methods: seeds, scrub division, cuttings. Propagation by seeds is very fast for growing a lot of plants, but seedlings do not get all parent plant characteristics. Seeds are sown in Autumn and Spring. The flower is self-sowing plant. Seedlings sown in Autumn get only 40 percent of characteristic of parent plants. It is recommended to keep seeds in cold place at 4 - 5°C temperature during winter. These seeds are sown in Spring and get about 80 percent of parent plants‘ characteristics. The flower begins blooming in late Autumn if seeds are sown in boxes in March. 500 seeds per 1 gram, 1000 seedlings per 10 grams of seeds sown. Scrub is divided during replantation. Each part should have 2-3 stems and good roots. The flower is propagated by cuttings (5-8 cm long with 3-4 leaves which are taken from top of shoot). It is advisable to take 5-8 cm long cutting from the lower shoot part with roots. Substrate could be mixed from peat and sand (1:1). Cuttings are planted in 2 cm depth. Rooting lasts 2-3 weeks at 20 - 25°C. The flower could be propagated by growth buds in July or by rhizome in Spring.
