Propagation methods: seeds, cuttings, scrub division.
Seeds are sown in Autumn or in boxes in Spring. 80 - 100 seeds per 1 gram. 1000 seedlings per 20 - 25 grams of seeds sown. Centaurea Montana is easyly propagated by seeds. The flower is propagated by cuttings (7-9 cm long, which are taken from top of shoots) between May and August. Rooting percentage in hotbeds is 70. Centaurea pulchenima and Centaurea dealbata are easyly propagated by rhizomes with shoots. Rhizome parts are planted to the final growing place. Scrubs are divided in early Spring. |
