PLANT PROPAGATION | |
Propagation methods: seeds, scrub division, vegetative. Propagation by seeds is used only in selection. Iris seeds have a long dormant period. Before sowing seeds should be soaked in water. Seeds are sown in boxes in Autumn. Seeds germinate within 75-85 days.
Propagation by scrub division is the mostly used. Roots are divided with 2-3 tufts of leaves. Very long roots are shortened. If the propagation material is sufficient the old roots are discarded. Scrubs are divided in Spring, Summer and Autumn. |
