PLANT PROPAGATION | |
Propagation methods: seeds (except Dicentra spectabilis) scrub division, rhizome parts, and cuttings. Seeds are small; therefore seeds should not be sown deep. 220 seeds per 1 gram. 1000 seedlings per 10 grams of seeds sown. Seeds germinating after 30 days. Seeds sown in Autumn begin germinating in Spring. Seeds should be stored in different temperatures before sowing.
Scrub is divided during replantation. Damaged roots are cut off. Dicentra spectabilis could be propagated as long as stems are empty inside (between May and July). Dicentra eximia ir Dicentra formosa are propagated between June and August. Green cuttings should be small, about 4-5 cm long. Substrate could be mixed from peat and pearlite or peat and sand. Cuttings should be dried 2-3 hours before planting. Rooting percentage is 50 - 70. Dicentra eximia and Dicentra formosa could be propagated by 6 - 15 cm long rhizome in hotbeds. |
