There is designed\u00a0variety of assortment layouts of\u00a0herbaceous\u00a0plants \u00a0in Lithuania.\u00a0Usually it is the plant lists in tables.\u00a0Plants by bioecological floral groups are sorted alphabetically \u00a0in these tables, also are described plant morphology, bioecological characteristics and application possibilities in variuos type parterres.<\/p>\n

Flowerbed designers should recognize plants, know their scientific names and be able to choose appropriate plants.<\/p>\n

In our new assortment herbaceous plants are divided into two groups:<\/p>\n

Main assortment (ornamental herbaceous plants with extensive use of opportunities and often used in flowerbeds in Lithuania.<\/p>\n

Supplementary assortment (ornamental herbaceous plants used rarely with unique characteristics or newly introduced.<\/p>\n

The main point of ornamental herbaceous plant assortment is flowerbed.<\/p>\n

Plant search for desired flowerbed is implemented according to the following scheme:<\/p>\n

          The flowers can be grown in different places. Growing place characteristics should be evaluated choosing plants. The flowers can be grown:<\/p>\n

                BLOOMING TIME AND BLOOMING PERIOD:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                Marking months and decade.To make it easier using these parameters, plant blooming period are classified into flowering seasons:<\/p>\n

                  \n
                1. EARLY SPRING – March – April First Decade<\/li>\n
                2. SPRING – April Second Decade –\u00a0 June First Decade<\/li>\n
                3. 1-ST HALF OF THE SUMMER – June 2-nd decade- July 2-nd decade<\/li>\n
                4. 2-ND HALF OF THE SUMMER\u00a0 – July Third Decade – August<\/li>\n
                5. AUTUMN – September – October<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Even better to choose plants according to the blooming range, which can be seen not only in flowering time but also its duration. This is especially important for perennial flowers, because their blooming is distributed throughout the growing season.<\/p>\n

                  PLANT COLOR:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  Ornamental herbaceous plants have colorful leaves and blossom. Blossom and leaves can be:<\/p>\n

                  1. WHITE;<\/li>\n
                  2. YELLOW, YELLOW TINTS;<\/li>\n
                  3. ORANGE;<\/li>\n
                  4. RED, RED TINTS<\/li>\n
                  5. VIOLET;<\/li>\n
                  6. BLUE, BLUE TINTS;<\/li>\n
                  7. GREEN;<\/li>\n
                  8. PURPLE;<\/li>\n
                  9. VARIEGATED;<\/li>\n
                  10. STRIPED;<\/li>\n
                  11. GREY;<\/li>\n
                  12. BROWN.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Plants blooming in different colors, are assigned to the same color group.<\/p>\n

                    GENERAL ORNAMENTALITY AND GENERAL ORNAMENTALITY:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    Decorative duration is determined by the following criteria: shrub, leaves, flowers, fruit ornamentally and flower decorations duration. Marked if decorative at any of the above criteria.<\/p>\n

                      \n
                    • Dt1<\/sub>\u00a0\u2013 ornamentality\u00a0 duration, 1 month.<\/li>\n
                    • Dt2<\/sub>\u00a0\u2013 \u00a0ornamentality\u00a0 duration, 2 months and etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      In order to distinguish the criteria leading ornamentality it is written near ornamentality index;<\/p>\n

                      • DtK \u2013 ornamental shrub;<\/li>\n
                      • DtL \u2013 ornamental leaves;<\/li>\n
                      • DtZ \u2013 ornamental blossoms;<\/li>\n
                      • DtZt \u2013 blooming duration determines the ornamentality duration;<\/li>\n
                      • DtV \u2013 ornamental fruits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          There are presented main assortment plants for each assortment layout position, firstly, hereinafter is presented the assortment of additional assortment plants.<\/p>\n

                          There is presented list of assortment plants in “Assortment of Ornamental Herbaceous Plants” page. \u00a0Plants should be filtered\u00a0using criterions in right side of webpage.<\/p>\n
