PLANT PROPAGATION
Propagation methods: seeds, vegetative propagation. Mature seeds are sown after picking up in fertile and rich soil at a depth of 1 cm. After sowing beds are mulched with peat (2 cm). Soil should be protected from weeds. Sown seeds germinate in Spring. Seedlings are sufficiently resistant to winter frost and other adverse conditions. Seedlings begin blooming in 4 - 6 years. Vegetatively propagated plants over a period of one year grow a number of adventitious bulbs. Bulbs should be grown for a few years before blooming. Daughter bulbs are easily separated from a parent bulb. It is not recommended to grow several species in the same. Propagation could be faster if the bulb‘s bottom is cut after digging up. This propagation method is similar to hyacinths.
